Popular NRL Betting Markets

If you’re new to NRL betting, we have you covered. All you need to know to get started are the different types of wagers you can place on NRL matches.

Head-to-Head

Bet on which team you think will win the match. Simple and straightforward. If you’re a beginner, this is the best wager to start your journey!

Line Betting

Also known as handicap betting, this involves giving one team a points advantage to level the playing field in an NRL match. Line betting provides better odds in NRL matches , especially when there is a clear favourite.

How to Bet

  • Select the team you believe will win, considering the points handicap.
  • The favourite gets an advantage while the Underdog gets a handicap.

Example of Line Bet in an NRL Match

  • Let’s say there the line is set at 2.5 points in a match between the Canberra Raiders and the New Zealand Warriors.
  • The Warriors are the favourites in this game. They get a handicap of -2.5 while the Raiders get a +2.5 advantage.
  • If you take a punt on the Warriors, they need to win the match by at least 3 points for you to win your bet.
  • If you run with the Raiders, they need to either win the game outright or lose by fewer than 3 points.

Margin Betting in NRL Matches

Bet on the margin by which a team will win. Common options are 1-12 points or 13+ points. Margin betting offers higher payouts if you accurately predict the game's closeness.

How to Bet on NRL Margins

Choose a winning margin category for your selected team or pick “draw” if you think the game will end in a draw.

Totals

Bet on the total number of points scored in an NRL match.

How to Bet on Totals

Decide if the combined score of both teams will be over or under the bookmaker's set total.

Example of a Totals Bet

  • Let’s say the Melbourne Storm are playing the Sydney Roosters.
  • The totals line has been set at 47.5 points.
  • If you believe that at least 48 points will be scored in this match, bet on “over 47.5”. If you believe that the total points scored will be under 47, take a punt on “under 47.5”.

Mutlis

A multi bet is a combination of multiple bets. All your bets in the multi need to be winners so that you can win your multi. You can build a multi across multiple NRL matches.

Outrights

  • Bet on outcomes that will be decided in the future, like:
  • The winner of the NRL Premiership
  • Team to make it to the Grand Final
  • Teams to make Top 4
  • Teams with the most losses
  • …and more

Anytime Tryscorer

Bet on a player to score a try at any point during the match.

Most Tries

Bet on the player who will score the most tries in the match. This market offers high payouts and is ideal if you have insight into a player's form and potential to dominate the game.
