Eredivisie Final Day Betting: Feyenoord and Ajax title odds

May 10, 2017

Feyenoord and Ajax head into the final weekend of the Eredivisie battling it out for the title.

Dutch Football Betting fans were left stunned last week as Feyenoord blew the chance to be crowned champions with a shock 3-0 defeat to Excelsior.

The Rotterdam derby did not go to plan and Ajax’s 4-0 win over Go Ahead Eagles means the Lancieri can win the title if they beat Willem II and Feyenoord lose or draw against Heracles.

Feyenoord title betting

Feyenoord remain the favourites in the Unibet betting odds at 1.25 to beat Heracles and win the title. The Rotterdam club have led from the front all season and logically should have no problem with a Heracles way safe of relegation. However, the Excelsior result last week proved we cannot take football for granted.

Heracles are 10.50 to beat Feyenoord and 6.30 to get the draw. And those are enticing odds. If Feyenoord freeze like they did this weekend then the nerves will set in. The crowd have shown have disappointed worried they are that the title is slipping from their grasp. Feyenoord just need a win here.

They should get it done, though. They don’t have any major fresh injuries and Dirk Kuyt should be returned to the starting XI after beginning on the bench at Excelsior. Nicolai Jørgensen has scored in just one of his last four outings but the Denmark international should be trusted to net here.

However, Heracles have proven to be no pushovers this season and are battling for a European playoff place themselves. They can lose and still finish ninth — but that relies on Groningen not beating Den Haag, who have nothing to play for. So Heracles may battle for the draw, which may not be enough for Feyenoord.

Willem II v Ajax

It’s been a distinctly average season for Willem II, who are safe from relegation but who never really threatened to encroach on the top half of the Eredivisie. They may not be one of the most fashionable Dutch football teams to bet on but they’ve improved on last season, where they survived the relegation playoffs.

Ajax, meanwhile, have balanced their domestic efforts with the European front and have been commended for reaching the Europa League’s latter stages. They piled on all their resources into beating Lyon in the first leg and will do so on Thursday.

So what can we expect on Sunday in the Eredivisie? Ajax will come out hungry and with a job to do. Willem II, meanwhile, will be on their summer holidays already. There is surely only one winner here and Ajax are 1.27 to get their job done. They should be on everyone’s combination bet this weekend.

Eredivisie relegation betting

Go Ahead Eagles are already down but a win for either Sparta or NEC (both on 31 points) could see them go above Roda (33 points) and out of the relegation playoffs. Roda face Vitesse away in a game that the hosts will look to win in order to secure fifth spot. NEC travel to Heerenveen in an equally tough game. But Sparta face the relegated Go Ahead and will hope to scrape three points there. Sparta are 1.80 to win their clash.
