Betting on the Premier League – Match Day 4

September 13, 2017

Players on international break will barely get any time to rest as the Premier League returns with colossal clashes. The first match kicks off on Saturday at 12:30 BST where Manchester City host Liverpool, both teams unbeaten in their opening three matches. Klopp’s Reds put four past the Gunners, sinking them to 16th position in the league table. Punters who are betting on Manchester United seem to be enjoying their top form as they recorded their third consecutive win over Leicester City. Tottenham will travel to Merseyside to face Everton and will need to collect all three points to avoid being left behind so early in the season.

Bet on Manchester City vs Liverpool

Both these sides are unbeaten this season and both have equal points and both club managers know the importance of winning these big games, especially so early in the season. Liverpool were tested last week when they hosted Arsenal, but Klopp’s men were far too powerful on the day and will need to maintain their performance to stand a chance against City.

As expected, Manchester City are the favourites at 1.85 to win, however, they were unable to beat Liverpool in their last five Premier League meetings, with their last win over the Reds coming in 2014. Liverpool have odds of 4.20 to emerge victorious but double chance betting on the Reds might be a better route. Odds for Liverpool not to lose are priced at 2.00 (evens), i.e. your bet will be successful if Liverpool with or draw the game. Both teams to score is priced at 1.41, which is understandable as both teams play the offensive game to perfection. Over 2.5 goals doesn’t have the most lucrative odds either, set at 1.48 but under 2.5 goals is worth pondering at odds of 2.75, especially considering the fact that their last clash ended one a piece.

Bet on Everton vs Tottenham

There’s nothing to divide these two squads in the early stages of the Premier League as both sides have a win, draw and a loss to their name. Chelsea were too strong for Everton before the International break but rest assured that Everton Manager Ronald Koeman will be making some changes in the strategy to stop the Spurs’ most dangerous players.

Everton are the underdogs in their upcoming clash and odds for the Merseyside team to collect all three points are priced at 3.50. It’s been five years since Everton beat Tottenham in a Premier League encounter but it’s worth noting that in their last six meetings, three of them ended in draws. Tottenham have odds of 2.10 to beat Everton and 3.40 for the match to end in a draw. Both teams to score is priced at 1.80 while double chance betting on Everton will potentially return £17.50 from a £10 bet.

Everton only managed to find the net twice in three matches played and there is that risk that the match will be very cagey and compact, with Everton not wanting to take any unnecessary risks. Rooney got both goals for the Merseyside team and odds for him to find the net Saturday are priced at 3.60.

Bet on Manchester United

The Red Devils have been in top form in their first opening games and all the players seem to be gelling and adopting to Mourinho’s philosophy perfectly. Three wins from three games and ten goals scored – this is the Manchester United the Premier League has been missing! More than the positive results, it’s the style of play, the flow, and the composure the players have on the pitch which is so convincing. They are portraying and projecting confidence like no other team in the Premier League and but can Mourinho’s men extend their clean sheet to four games?

The Red Devils are the favourites to collect all the points with odds set at 1.48. Handicap betting on Manchester United are set at 2.33, which means that if they win with a goal difference of two or better, your bet will be successful. Stoke only managed to find the net twice in three games played and considering United’s three clean sheets, it’s looking tough for Stoke to get through Mourinho’s defence. Odds for one team (or none) to score are priced at 1.76, a great price to add to any accumulator.
