Racing Rules

Table of Contents:

1.  General

1. Where a race meeting, or race(s) have been:

(a) Transferred from one race course to another, or
(b) Changed in track surface (eg Sunshine Coast Grass track to Sunshine Coast Cushion track), or
(c) Postponed to a different date, or
(d) Abandoned

then all final field bets on the affected race(s) will be cancelled and refunded, subject to Unibet Wager Type Rules for specific bet types (eg “Multi” bets). All wagers placed before the final field stage (i.e. futures markets) will stand.

2. In the event of a horse being withdrawn late by order of the stewards then all wagers will be paid as stewards from that meeting direct, including deductions on remaining runners (subject to all-in rules). Note that deductions for runners scratched from international events may vary from the Australian standard scale of deductions.

3. If a wager is accepted, but afterwards found to have been taken after the result of the race was known, or in the opinion of Unibet management could have been anticipated (e.g. the runner was several lengths in front with a hundred metres to go), the wager will be voided and refunded.

4. We reserve the right to refuse the whole or part of any wager.

5. Where there are eight (8) or more runners in a race, the place dividend shall be paid on first, second and third places. Where there are seven (7), six (6) or five (5) runners in a race, the place dividend shall be paid on first and second places only. In the event of a scratching which results in a change of the field size from eight (8) or more runners down to seven (7), six (6) or five (5) runners, there will still be 3 place dividends for bets placed when there were eight (8) or more runners, less a deduction if applicable. Where there are four (4) runners or less betting will be Win only, all place bets will be void regardless of when the bet was placed. Bets placed on tote odds will be paid at the place terms declared after official scratchings, regardless of the time of bet placement. In the case of a late scratching (after the standard official scratching time for the meeting) the number of places paid on tote odds place bets will be equivalent to that of the TAB paying the highest number of places.

6. Where there are seven (7), six (6) or five (5) runners in a race, the place dividend shall be paid on first and second places only. Fixed-odds each-way bets will pay the place at one-third of the win odds.

7. Where there are less than five (5) runners in a race, the wagers shall be "Win Only".

8. If no bet type is specified the default bet type will be a win bet.

9. The place portion of each-way bets may not always be paid at the same product as the win type.(please check the product shown when placing this type of bet).

10. At the discretion of Unibet management, tote pools of under $500 may be disregarded in the calculation of best tote or middle tote dividends.

11. At the discretion of Unibet management, total payout per customer may be restricted to a maximum of the size of the tote pool for that particular race and bet type they are based on.

12. At the discretion of Unibet management, if there are reasonable suspicions of tote manipulation, a tote may be disregarded in respect of the best tote or middle tote dividend calculations provided that:

a. The total amount of investments in a tote pool(s) is less than $10,000, and/or
b. The best tote dividend is greater than 10% higher than the middle tote dividend.

If a tote pool is disregarded in the calculation of the best tote dividend, the higher of the middle tote or the official SP will be used for the best tote dividend. If a tote pool is disregarded in the calculation of the middle tote dividend, the official SP will be used for the middle tote dividend. In the event that there is only one (1) tote pool that has not been disregarded, the higher of that particular tote pool dividend ot the official SP will be used for the best tote dividend and the dividend for that tote pool will be used for middle tote dividends.
