Our Punter of the Week is JV, from Sydney, who won close to $9,000 after landing a successful exotic on the last race at Kembla Grange on Thursday afternoon.

Staking $100 on the exacta, our punter watched on as James Innes Jr worked forward from an outside gate to take up the running aboard Commanding Witness in the 1200m event.

Battle Cry emerged from the pack to issue a challenge and looked every chance of gunning the leader down in the final 100m but Innes found enough resolve to ward off the challenge and maintain his horse’s perfect second-up record.

With the final STAB exacta returning $89.90, our punter found himself $8,990 to the good for his troubles.
