Autumn Racing Carnival
Spring Racing Carnival
Around Australia, some top quality Group 1 horse races will take place across much of the calendar year but the main focus falls firmly on two events. The Spring Racing Carnival and the Autumn Racing Carnival hold the highest concentration of major meetings and these are the times when punters across the country will stop to take in the world class races on show. Spring Racing Carnival Melbourne is our destination for the Spring Racing Carnival which is held annually in October through to November. The Melbourne Cup is undoubtedly the focal point of the entire event but other Group 1 races include the Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate, Victoria Derby, Mackinnon Stakes, Manikato Stakes and Cantala Stakes. Caulfield and Flemington are, therefore, popular destinations for racegoers but the Spring Carnival also takes in the unique Moonee Valley circuit for its feature two days. It’s a great way for the racing fraternity to close out the year and to look ahead to more action further down the line. Autumn Racing Carnival After Melbourne, attention switches across the country to the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival. Six weeks of Autumn racing is set to go off across March and April with many of the world’s best horses, jockeys and trainers heading east to New South Wales. Among the many Sydney Autumn Carnival races taking place, the Golden Slipper at Rosehill is perhaps the most highly anticipated. Look out too for The Championships at Randwick which includes the Doncaster Mile, Australian Derby, Sydney Cup and the Queen Elizabeth Stakes. Held over two days across the Easter long weekend, the Championships are the highlight of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival for many. We’ll always have a packed series of Autumn racing from around Australia but the carnival offers a feast of action for all punters to enjoy.
