Racing heads to Sandown on Saturday in Victoria with a 9-race card on the Hillside track which has been severely affected by rain this week to put the track rating as a Heavy 8 with potentially further downgrades expected before raceday.
Given that, I want to be finding horses with established wet track records.
Best Bet – Race 2 – 14 Mr Mooj (5.00)
Comes to this race 3rd up after a solid performance last start at 1800m.
He's been well respected by the market at both runs this campaign and the Hickmott stable is finding form after a quiet couple of months.
Love that he drops 7kgs on his last start effort and with Will Price aboard he should slot in for a lovely run from Gate 4.
Think anything 3.50+ is a good price for this import.

Next Best – Race 9 – 12 Zipping Boy (6.50) (in above tweet)
Exceptional record this horse is building with him now 5 wins from 8 starts.
Loved his fight to win here last time and feel despite the big rise in class that he can measure up.
He loves wet tracks and will be up on speed for Will Price who gets him in with only 52kgs on his back which is a 7.5kg drop from last start.
We know horses that get apprentices on in Metro Melbourne with a 4kg or more weight drop on last start are profitable betting propositions this season.
The other big tick for this guy is that he strikes a race full of horses at their wrong distance or early in their preparation.
Feel the market will really find this horse and he starts a clear favourite.
Sir Kalahad went straight to the front and won comprehensively as the $20.50 roughie in a six horse field. pic.twitter.com/5oT6wjAisg

Value – Race 8 – 13 Sir Kalahad (21.00) (in above tweet)
On pace runner who is down hugely in the weights here on his last start when carrying 62kgs.
With the claim for Carleen Hefel he gets in with 51.5kgs a swing of 10.5kgs off his last run and a weight he won't know himself with given he is usually carrying 58kgs+.
His recent form is reasonable for this but his record on Heavy tracks and the light weight are more of the key factors to this horse's chances.
Feel at 20-1 plus he's a big price.
Good luck punters!
