Race 7 – Chester Manifold Stakes 1400m LR
Highlight of the day this race with the up and coming Riding The Wave (3.00) up against the 1400m Flemington specialists in Blazejowski (6.50) and Vassilator (8.00) (pictured above).
Riding The Wave (in below tweet) looks well placed here on the limit weight rising to 1400m.
His win last start was brave and if he can replicate that effort he will be hard to beat.
Ethan Brown getting down to ride 54kgs is also a big indication of how high he holds this horse as 'Browny' usually doesn't ride below 56kgs.
Think the market should find him more on the day and that the 3.00 available becomes closer to 2.80.

Vassilator needs to be respected here given his record at this track/distance is 8 starts for 4 wins.
He is arguably in career best form and was enormous when winning here last start.
The 8.00+ looks a big price.
Blazejowksi is working back to form and wouldn't shock if he was ridden more aggressive here and improved again.
At his best he could win this.

Suggested Bet – Riding The Wave (3.00) (win), Vassilator (8.00) (win) (in below tweet)

Race 2 – 1400m 3YO Bm70

Looks a good race this one for Siren Rock (3.60) to go back-to-back after posting a dominant win at Warrnambool last time in Maiden grade.
That race was run quite slowly early so wasn't really able to run a good overall time but his late splits were encouraging and he looked like he had a lot more to offer
Jamie Kah taking over is a big positive and think from the gate she has options.
Zac De Boss (2.40) (in below tweet) is on the quick back up after winning last week at Caulfield and that's why the market has singled him out so much here.
Personally though, I think his well under the odds as he had all the favours last week and that wasn't a race of good overall depth.
Definitely his biggest task to date here and at the early price happy to take him on.

Hickok (12.00) could be the improver up in distance on the 7-day turnaround.
He was simply outpaced last week in a super-fast race so he should appreciate the extra distance and likely slower tempo.

Suggested Bet – Siren Rock (3.60) (win)

Race 6 – 2000m Open
The Lord Stakes form holds the key here with Mosh Music (3.60) (in above tweet) and Defribillate (4.80) both coming out of that race at Caulfield on Boxing Day.
On that day, Mosh Music had to make a long run out wide on the course and was doing her best work late where as Defribillate cut the corner when weaving between runners and got a dream run through to win.
There wasn't a lot of difference in their overall performances on that occasion and given that, I found them a bit harder to split than what the market has early.
Both horses look set to peak 3rd up and the rise in distance looks ideal for both also.
Both look the two horses to beat and at the prices, I would probably lean Defribillate's way but can see a strong push for Mosh Music on the day and her starting shorter.
Sentimentalist (15.00, 4.20) brings in the different form and was not given much hope last time at Caulfield in what was a clear forgive run.
His run prior at Werribee in the Cup was very good and if he can press forward here early, he can certainly jag a top 3 finish.

Suggested Bet – Sentimentalist (15.00, 4.20) (win, place 1×3)

Best Bet – Race 4 – 1 Saccharo (3.60) (in above tweet)
Saccharo is 3rd up now and out to 1600m looks absolute ideal for this Archie Alexander-trained galloper.
He was good from a long way back here last time in a race completely dominated by those on speed and the start prior he was a big run at his first run back from a long break.
Campbell Rawiller's 3kg claim gets him in well at the weights here and I think he should be ridden more positively from the wide gate.
In a race lacking depth he looks a clear standout and 3.60+ is a super appealing price.

Next Best – Race 8 – 10 Garimpeiro (4.80) (in above tweet)
Big run last week by this guy when charging home late to grab 4th when running some terrific late closing sections.
The quick back-up and step up in trip look ideal and the gate gives Newitt some options as to tactics including the chance of him being right up on the speed.
Lindsey Smith will have him cherry ripe here and think in a race again lacking depth the 5.00+ is a great price.

Good luck punters and have a fill up!
