Saturday's racing heads to an unusual host in Victoria with Sandown to run 9 races on the 'punter friendly' Hillside track.
The meeting isn't stacked with quality, but it still looks an appealing card to bet on.

Track Conditions – Rail is in the true and track is currently rated a Good4 with good weather predicted for the rest of the week.
Expecting a fair racing surface for all.

Race 1 – 1300m 2YO

Thought this race had some holes in it from a market perspective early with Picarones (2.80) and Sunfall (6.50) both holding up too much market percentage coming out of a questionable form race at Caulfield.
Unibet punters can get on board with odds of 4.00 available for Picarones to Win via our Price Push.

The horse who could definitely firm in this race from his current quote is Artorius (4.40) (in below tweet).
His run on debut was terrific when getting back to last at Geelong and making good ground in the straight to run 2nd behind Jigsaw who looks very talented.
He looks like the 1300m should suit and the draw should allow him to just bide his time and come with the last shot at em'.
He will be better for that debut outing from a race smarts point of view and should improve on his effort he displayed.
The dangers could be the debutants El Rocko (18.00) and Shadowheart (6.50), who have both trialled up well in preparation for this.
El Rocko is certainly over the odds based on his Jump Outs.

Suggested Bet – Artorius (4.40) (win)

Race 2 – 1300m Bm64

Irish Butterfly (4.00) (in below tweet) was a big run for 2nd at Warrnambool in what was his first run since have a gelding operation.
He didn't have a lot of luck at a crucial stage that day and it cost him at least getting closer to the winner and at best cost him winning.
He has been a bit of a tease in the past but happy to treat him as a clean slate since his gelding and feel if he runs up to his performance at Warrnambool he will be incredibly hard to beat and should be much shorter in betting.
Damien Thornton (pictured at top) is flying at the moment so definitely no negatives with him on board and the horse is tactically versatile enough to be ridden either close to the speed or off speed.
If he does let us down the Butterfly, then the race becomes open with the likes of Jimenez (6.50), Monsters Inc (12.00), Exeter (8.50), Altai Ranger (6.00) and Ellis Park (9.00) all winning hopes.
I think Irish Butterfly is a much better horse than the aforementioned group and given that feel the price on offer is more than appealing.

Suggested Bet – Irish Butterfly (4.00) (win)

Race 8 – 1500m Bm70

Heart Of Puissance (3.00) (in below tweet) is the clear class runner of the race but comes here after being scratched twice last week and the blinkers that were down to be used last week have come off.
Something just stinks about him appearing here and I feel given the weird set up for his first up appearance that we can take on the talented galloper.
He is first up off a long break with likely bigger targets and will need luck from his inside draw given he will likely be a long way back.
I think he drifts heavily on the day and is very vulnerable here even though it would be no shock to see him bolt in and make me look like a fool.

The horses I want to take to my head-to-head fight with Heart Of Puissance are War Critic (8.00) (in below tweet) and Sunday Pray (31.00), as feel both have been undervalued by the market place early.
War Critic was a great winner last time when riding the speed and a good rating race.
He is on an upward spiral and looks set to peak 3rd up under Melbourne's leading rider Jamie Kah.
He also comes from the in-form Ellerton/Zahra combo, so given that he is sure to have supporters late and feel that the 8.00+ being shopped is a good bet.

Sunday Pray likely won't firm in the market but he is consistent and racing well.
He maps to lead, gets the in-form Will Price on and has a great record at this track
Feel he's a key player here in this race and could run a cheeky one at odds.

Suggested Bet – War Critic (8.00), Sunday Pray (31.00) (small win, place)

Good luck punters and enjoy the long weekend on the Rex Hunt!
