The Race Club’s Wednesday Racing April 13 Preview: Talented Filly To Get The Jump In Geelong Sprint

April 13, 2022April 26th, 2022

“She’s got enough talent to win this.”

Midweek racing down heads to Geelong, and while it’s not a metropolitan grade meeting, some emerging quality is engaged and I’m expecting many to go on to bigger and better things.

Race 6, 1100m

Miss Melbourne resumes here and has shown above average ability at each start.
A strong win here then she bungled the start at The Valley and with pattern against was left with too much to do.
She appears to have tidied the start-up based off a recent Geelong jump out, and I think she’s got enough talent to win this.
Romany Rocks (3.70) has jumped out well and is the danger, I just felt she was going to be better suited to further.

BEST BET: Miss Melbourne (3.00) (win)

#10 SACHEM (7.50)

Race 7, 1300m

Sachem resumes here and he’s a horse I’ve always had plenty of time for.
After an unlucky debut, he chased home city grade gallopers thereafter showing plenty of tenacity in doing so, before stepping up in trip and breaking through in good style.
Two jump outs for this, the latest a good hit out when second to the speedy Raging Monkey.
I think this trip is a suitable kick off and from a good gate he should get a nice run and be in the finish.

VALUE BET: Sachem (7.50) (win)
