Kennedy Oaks, 2500m
The highlight of Ladies Day, this feature race for 3YO fillies is as old as the Melbourne Cup and should provide a great spectacle.
Montefilia (1.85) (pictured above and in below tweet) dominates the betting off the back of consecutive Group 1 wins in Sydney, the David Payne-trained bay contemptuous to suggestions the Flight Stakes would be a two-horse race between Hungry Heart and Dame Giselle by gunning down the former in the last stride.
She backed up that performance with a comprehensive win in the Spring Champion Stakes where only Lion’s Roar provided any sort of opposition and the manner in which she was strong through the line gives every indication she will thrive getting out to this distance.

Drawn favourably in five, she should get every chance to prove her class under Hugh Bowman and is certain to be the anchor of any number of multis on the day.
Unibet punters can get on board odds of 2.50 for Montefilia to win via our Price Push.
One of five fillies out of Saturday’s Wakeful Stakes, Personal (6.00) looks the logical threat to the favourite despite losing out to Victoria Quays there.
She ran on well from the back in the Thousand Guineas prior to that and is a better horse than a record of one win from eight starts would suggest.
With a decent platform, she should get the trip and be there at the business end.
Miravalle (7.00) was no match for Montefilia when they met in Sydney but turned in a more than useful Oaks trial when closing off well for fourth in the Wakeful.
She should settle a little closer in the run here but felt she was someway off the top two.
Danny O’Brien won this with Miami Bound last year and will be represented by Salto Angel (31.00) and Vilanculos (26.00).
The former ran competitive races in the Ethereal and Wakeful and looks worth inclusion in the wider exotics while Tyche Goddess (17.00) stuck on gamely on Saturday and should give a decent account of herself once again.
My Tip: Montefilia (1.85)
