From The Traders’ Desk Saturday Racing March 12 Tips: Flemington, Rosehill & Eagle Farm

March 11, 2022April 26th, 2022

“Steps up to 1200m a distance that he has won five of seven and ran second the other two runs.”

Flemington – Newmarket Handicap Race 6 #1 Masked Crusader (11.00) (in below tweet)
Resumed after almost four months and found the 1000m too short when fifth behind Home Affairs.
Steps up to 1200m a distance that he has won five of seven and ran second the other two runs.
Also won or placed four from five when second up.
Was just beaten in The Everest and looks great odds at around the 11.00 mark.

Rosehill – Coolmore Classic Race 8 #15 Espiona (3.70)
Made her debut with a huge win at Warwick Farm then went to Flemington during the Cup Carnival and demolished them by over six lengths.
Was spelled and returned when didn’t have the best of runs and run down late by stablemate Fangirl, who has been scratched from this race.
Last start finished third again behind a stablemate when doing a few things wrong in the home straight.
The extra 100m looks ideal and should be at peak fitness at third run back.

BEST – Rosehill Race 6 #11 Fangirl (1.80) (in below tweet)
Winner of four from seven, resumed with a win in the Group 2 Lightfinger and then made up an enormous amount of ground when fifth, beaten less than two lengths in the Group 1 Surround.
With so many early scratchings from the race, including three stablemates that were well in the market, Fangirl looks super hard to beat.

LAY – Rosehill Race 5 #2 Rule Of Law (2.60)
Hate to be knocking a horse that has won five in a row but all good things must come to an end and this might be the day it happens for Rule Of Law.
Steps up to Group Level racing in this against some promising rivals including Remarque who has form around Paulele and Anamoe.
Then we have Shelby Sixtysix (6.00) who almost brought off a huge upset when flew home to be just beaten by Eduardo in The Challenge and throw in the up-and-coming Gravina (3.60) into the mix and the 2.60 currently on offer for Rule Of Law looks under the odds.

BACKED – Eagle Farm Race 7 #4 Osamu (3.40)
Had no luck as favourite last start at the Sunshine Coast when held up in the home straight and beaten a length.
Ben Thompson jumps on board here and even allowing for plenty of firmers in the race due to scratchings, Osamu has been very well backed into 3.40.
