The fallout from the ill-fated Super League continues and Mesut Ozil has the final say on the dead and buried league. Find out what the former Arsenal star said in our Top Roasts of the Day countdown. Back at home, it was another top weekend of racing for the Ciaron Maher, Toby Edmonds and Simon Zahra stables while the mighty Roosters had plenty to crow about in their Anzac Day clash against the Dragons. Find out below who gets our top gong in our top Toasts of the Day countdown!

3 – Football – City captures first trophy of the season, Spurs’ drought continues

“Death, taxes and Manchester City winning the League Cup.”
“It has now been 4,809 days since Spurs last won a trophy.”

– Optus Sports, Twitter

Optus Sport’s tweet says it all.
Death, taxes and a Manchester City League Cup trophy, that’s the norm these days.

It’s City’s 4th consecutive League Cup trophy and it has now been a whopping 4,809 days since Spurs last claimed a trophy!

2 – Football – Super League like a ‘lads night out’

“This European Super League is like a lads night out before everyone asks their Mrs if it’s alright.”

– Twitter user

The world's biggest football fiasco, otherwise known as the 'European Super League' was jokingly referred to ‘like a lads night out before everyone asked their Mrs if it’s alright’ by a witty Twitter user and it drew an immediate reaction from former Premier League star Peter Crouch.
Perhaps being able to relate to the lads night out comment, the former prolific scoring Liverpool and Stoke striker admitted the comment 'tickled' his funny bones.
