Punter Wins $20,000 On Ascot Quaddie

February 17, 2019

Our Punter of the Week is NM, from WA, who walked away more than $20,000 richer after landing the quadrella at Ascot on Saturday afternoon.

Applying a $50 stake to his 10 individual combinations for a total outlay of $500, our punter watched on as a mid-race move from Daniel Staeck aboard Debellatio paid handsome dividends, the 4YO opening up a winning break in the straight and holding a margin over two lengths on the field at the winning post in Race 5.

Standing out favourite Creative Hero in the Challenge Stakes (Race 6), our punter saw champion jockey Willie Pike take up a handy position just off the leaders and ease to the front halfway down the straight, the gelding holding off stablemates Regal Power and Final Hearing to register a third win from just four career starts to date.

With favourite Alpha Sky also stood out in Race 7, NM didn’t really have to sweat that one out as Simon Miller’s charge romped away to an emphatic four length win from the front, leaving our punter on the precipice of a healthy collect.
With five runners in his pocket in the last, it was left to apprentice Kate Witten to boot home equal favourite Mycroft to a strong win and complete the bet.

With the final STAB quadrella dividend returning $410.70, our punter’s investment had netted him a cool $20,535 for his troubles.

Nice work NM!
