Punter Turns Simple $50 Multi Into Nearly $3,200

February 25, 2018

Our Punter of the Week is DR, from Queanbeyan, who won in excess of $3000 with an effortless, four-leg $50 multi on Saturday’s feature races at Rosehill and Caulfield.

DR kicked things off in the Silver Slipper, siding with Magic Millions winner Sunlight ($2.90) who was locked in a solid duel with Estijaab in the final furlong but eventually managed to overwhelm the Hawkes runner and win on her Sydney debut.

Next it was off to Melbourne where Brave Smash ($3.40), who had caught the eye with a fast finishing third in the CF Orr Stakes here last start, managed to squeeze between runners and hold off stablemate Tosen Stardom to land the Futurity Stakes.

Switching back to the harbour city, our punter threw popular pick Kementari ($2.30) into his bet and saw that horse register a strong win in the Hobartville Stakes ahead of the highly promising colt Pierata, those horses set to clash again in a fortnight’s time in the Randwick Guineas.

Holding a live ticket heading into the final race at Caulfield, Gailo Chop ($2.90) completed the bet with an emphatic win in the Peter Young Stakes, jockey Mark Zahra having the luxury of easing the horse down in the concluding stages as our punter celebrated his collect.

At combined odds of 63.80, DR’s $50 investment had turned into $3,189 and gave him plenty of bragging rights amongst his friends.

Nice work DR!
