Punter Turns $57 Outlay Into $3,800 Collect

August 27, 2018

Our Punter of the Week is DH, from Queensland, who took full advantage of our Best Tote Exotics payout on offer on all Group races over the spring carnival to walk away nearly $4,000 richer on Saturday afternoon after landing the First 4 in the Ming Dynasty at Rosehill.

Standing out his preferred selection, the Tim Martin-trained Danawi ($5EF) for first, our punter boxed the field for the remaining three places, applying a unit stake of 8c to his 720 individual combinations for a total spend of $57.60.

With James Innes taking the equal favourite, on the seven day backup having finished second to Master Ash in last weekend’s Up and Coming Stakes at Randwick, to the lead upon settling, our punter watched on nervously as Andrew Adkins aboard $51 shot Mizzy started to eat into his lead inside the final furlong but the colt did enough to hang on and survive a protest to get the result.

With outsiders Dealmaker ($31) and Aramayo ($10) finishing third and fourth, the First4 dividend settled on an enormous $48,144.60 on the NSW TAB, ensuring a return for DH of $3851.57.

With the STAB dividend for the First4 returning $40,718 our punter was almost $600 better of than he otherwise would have been under our standard exotic payout.

Nice work DH!
