Our Punter of the Week is MC, from Queensland, who won close to $5,500 after landing an astute five-leg multi on Saturday’s metro gallops action.
Kicking things off in Melbourne, our punter saw the Hayes/Dabernig trained Sikandarabad score a hard-fought win under Jordan Childs in Race 1 at Caulfield.
Heading down to Sydney, the next leg required Star of the Seas to run a Place in Race 3 and the Chris Waller-trained gelding did just that, finishing his race off nicely to fill second place behind favourite Archedemus.
Our punter relied on the Waller camp in the next and they didn’t let him down, favourite Seaway making it back-to-back wins and improving his overall record to five wins from 11 starts in the Schweppes Handicap.
Sticking in the harbour city, our punter would have been relieved to have committed Savatiano as a Place selection only, the Godolphin mare forced to settle for third having been unable to reel in surprise all-the-way winner White Moss in the Millie Fox Stakes.
It was left to the Kelly Doughty-trained Benfica Princess to complete the bet, the mare exceeding MC’s expectations with a booming finish to salute in the last at Eagle Farm at big odds having been included as a Place selection as well.
Legs:
Sikandarabad ($3.40)
Star of the Seas (Place - $1.95)
Seaway ($2.00)
Savatiano (Place - $1.90)
Benfica Princess (Place - $4.40)
Odds: $110.85
Stake: $50
Return: $5,542.68
Nice work MC!
