Punter Turns $20 Outlay Into $6,000 With Winning Quaddie

March 11, 2019

Our Punter of the Week is GA, from Queensland, who walked away more than $6,000 to the good after landing the Flemington quadrella on Saturday afternoon.

Including between 3-5 horses per leg and applying a 10c stake to his 225 individual combinations (for a total outlay of $22.50) our punter was up and running as Sunlight claimed the Newmarket Handicap ahead of favourite Osborne Bulls.

With Spanish Whisper amongst his picks in the Kewney Stakes, GA was a relieved man after hard riding from Dwayne Dunn saw the filly to a narrow win over stablemate Victory Kingdom in the Group 2 event to keep him alive.

Having hotpot Avilius in his pocket in the Australian Cup, our punter was entitled to feel confident but his decision to also throw in several outsiders came to fruition as the unfancied Harlem made it back-to-back wins in the event under Jamie Kah.

Holding the first three in betting for the final leg, our punter would have been mixing the margaritas as Ken Keys’ Spanish Reef also made it consecutive wins in the Schweppervescence Trophy with a gutsy effort to ward off the well-fancied Naantali.

With the STAB quadrella returning a whopping $62,404.60, our punter found himself celebrating a payout of $6,240.46 and with plenty of moolah to attack the remainder of the autumn carnival.

Nice work GA!
