Premier League Darts 11 comes from Liverpool this Thursday as the PDC’s top players continue their roadshow towards the playoffs.
Last week Adrian Lewis stunned Gary Anderson 7-3 in the big upset of the night in Belfast. The result puts two-time world champion Anderson’s top-four hopes on the line.
Anderson plays twice on Thursday and must beat both Dave Chisnall and Peter Wright if he wants to be in the semi-finals.
Let’s take a look at the best darts betting tips and see if the Scot can reverse his poor form.
PREMIER LEAGUE DRATS 11 MATCHES
Gary Anderson v Dave Chisnall
First up for Anderson is Chisnall, who has endured a torrid time of it in the 2017 Premier League of Darts. Chisnall has won just three of his 10 matches so far and lost 7-3 to Anderson when these two met in Week 6 in Glasgow. Neither man has really improved since then and both will hope the claim maximum points in this clash on Thursday. Anderson’s saving grace is that his average remains the second-best in the league after Michael van Gerwen. The Scot is 1.50 to win this match — but a draw at 5.00 isn’t a bad shout either.
Michael van Gerwen v Peter Wright
Peter Wright suffered a frustrating 6-6 draw with Chisnall last weekend to dent his hopes of finishing the 2017 Premier League at the top of the table. Wright is now two points off leader Michael van Gerwen and needs a win to draw level again with the Dutchman. Van Gerwen rattled Wright 7-3 back in Week 2, where the latter threw a terrible 89.83 average. Wright is better than his performance suggested that night in Nottingham but he needs to match Van Gerwen at the start of legs if he has any chance here. Wright will defend his legs but Van Gerwen should break a couple of times at least. Another 7-3 result is available at 6.50.
Adrian Lewis v Raymond van Barneveld
Raymond van Barneveld beat Adrian Lewis 7-5 in Week 1 of the 2017 Premier League of Darts — a pulsating encounter that the Dutchman nicked right at the end. Van Barneveld has been frustratingly inconsistent all tournament and that is not good for darts betting fans. His unpredictability means betting on Van Barneveld is tricky. A day after beating Lewis in the Premier League, Barney lost to the Englishman 6-1 in a UK Open qualifier.
Van Barneveld will likely be as good as he is bad on Thursday. Back him to make the highest checkout of the match at 1.90.
Phil Taylor v James Wade
James Wade is on a four-match losing streak in the Premier League of Darts and has won just nine of his last 30 legs. That is not good form. But there have been glimpses of Wade’s ability to rise to the occasion. In his 7-5 loss to Van Gerwen last week the Englishman averaged a staggering 110.82. He was only undone by the magnificence of his opponent. Wade then wilted in his second match of the night in Dublin, losing to Van Barneveld 7-2.
Which Wade will turn up on Thursday? Phil Taylor is favourite and has won his last three matches in the Premier League. But at 3.70 Wade is a tempting bet to win this match.
Peter Wright v Gary Anderson
It’s an all-Scottish affair for Anderson’s second match of the evening. And if it’s anything like their last in February this could be a cracker! Anderson beat Wright 7-5 back in Leeds in Week 3. Both averaged over 106 but it was Anderson’s 180 count —his threw SIX maximums — that undid his opponent. Back +7.5 maximums here at 2.00 and you shouldn’t be disappointed.
