It’s been a hectic week for teams competing in the Champions League but a very successful one indeed. All Premier League teams recorded wins in Europe this week and their victories will give them the confidence to keep the winning momentum going. The clash of the week is between the Champions, Chelsea, and Manchester City with both teams fighting for all the points. Liverpool face a fierce battle at St. James’ Park on Sunday afternoon and The Magpies will be looking to get something out of this clash after their loss to Brighton. This will be the last Premier League match day before the International break and the teams will return to action on Saturday 14th of October.
Bet on Chelsea vs Manchester City
This is what Premier League betting fans have all been waiting for! One of the biggest clashes of the season is here and as always, the clash is colossal on so many levels. Chelsea are trailing by three points and a win for Conte’s men will bring all the two on par on points. Pep Guardiola knows that their City rivals have a relatively easy game and you can rest assured that his team will be going for all three points.
Chelsea are the underdogs at Stamford Bridge as they face City on Saturday with odds of 2.85 to emerge victorious. Chelsea’s win on the road to Atletico Madrid proved that they have the quality to overcome tough opponents but given City’s current form, it’s going to be a gruelling task.
City recorded their seventh win on the trot in all competitions scoring 26 goals in the process. We don’t see Chelsea keeping a clean sheet against such an offensive prowess and betting on both teams to score might be a sensible bet. Odds for this are priced at 1.55 and over 2.5 goals at 1.70. All their last five encounters ended in over 2.5 goals.
Sergio Aguero has an average of a goal a game and odds for the Argentinian forward to get his name on the scoresheet at Stamford Bridge are set at 2.25. Alvaro Morata bagged six goals this season too and has odds of 2.35 to score at any time.
Bet on Newcastle vs Liverpool
Newcastle were always a huge team and finally, after a rocky few years, they’re showing their true colours once again and Premier League betting fans are hoping that they’ll continue to shine throughout the season. The Magpies have odds of 5.00 to beat Liverpool and odds of 2.20 to get something out of this game (double chance betting).
Liverpool failed to beat Newcastle last time the Magpies were in the Premier League and lost at St. James’ Park in their most recent encounter. Liverpool are priced at 1.73 to snatch all three points but their defence leaves much to be debated. Liverpool played 11 games in all competitions this season and only managed to keep a clean sheet on two occasions, clearly exposing the problems they have at the back.
Brighton stopped Newcastle from winning their fourth consecutive Premier League encounter and the loss is evident of their lack of consistency this season. Both have a goal difference of +1 but Newcastle scored half the goals Liverpool scored and conceded half the amount.
Bet on Manchester United
Manchester United are back to being a World Class team, a top contender for the Premier League and a serious threat to all their opponents. They steamrolled over CSKA Moscow in what was an incredible performance by the Red Devils. Mourinho’s men now host Crystal Palace in their quest for their next three points and most Premier League betting fans will assume that this will be another routine win.
Odds are ridiculously low for the Red Devils to win and to make a decent return, we’ll need to explore other bets. Mourinho is known for his ability to fortify his defence and from their six matches played, they kept clean sheets in five and only conceded in their draw to Stoke. Betting on one team to score (the bet will be successful if it’s a goalless draw too) will give you a higher return, at 1.46.
Lukaku took his scoring form to Old Trafford as he already bagged six goals in six Premier League appearances. Odds for the Belgian International to score at any time are priced at 1.54. Odds for Lukaku to score the first goal are set at 3.10.
