Betting on the Premier League – Match Day 12

November 16, 2016

Finally! The wait is over and the Premier League is back in action! Liverpool climbed to the top of the table and are now hovering over Chelsea by a single point. Betting on the Premier League has become exhilarating the past couple of weeks and the two points separating the first four teams of the table is proof of that. Antonio Conte is doing a brilliant job at Chelsea and his winning record is impeccable, winning all their last five matches. Manchester City were held at home against Middlesbrough, a match that would have kept them on top of the table. Their city Rivals Manchester United won and a collective sigh of relief was shared among the players, the fans and the manager, although this was their first win in their last five games. We’ll take a closer look at betting information you should be looking at when placing a bet on the Premier League for the weekend.

Bet on Manchester United vs Arsenal

The red devils face a tough test next Saturday as they host Arsenal in what usually is one of the biggest clashes of the Premier League. As mentioned previously, Manchester United will be looking for another win to make it two from two. However, Arsenal are unbeaten in their last five games and have only lose one game this season, their opening game against Liverpool in a seven goal thriller. Arsenal are a high scoring team but their last five games saw three games finish in under 2.5 goals. Manchester United are also having trouble finding the net, having scored just 16 goals in 11 games. The red devils are the slight favourites to win the game, with odds currently at 33/20. A £10 bet on Arsenal will potentially return £27.50. It’s important to keep in mind that Arsenal are unbeaten away from home and won four from their five away matches. Betting on goals is a perfect bet for the neutral, as a bet on over 2.5 goals will potentially return double the stake. Wayne is priced well to score at any time, with odds at 3/1.

Bet on Liverpool

Klopp and his men went out on the International break in style as they steamrolled over Watford in a 6-1 victory and climbing to the top of the table. Liverpool travel to Southampton and the Merseyside squad can’t afford anything less than three points, as having the Premier League incredibly competitive will see them sink a couple of places down the table. Liverpool are the favourites but they’re at a great price to win, with odds currently at 21/20. From their last five games, four of their last five games finished in over 2.5 goals and odds for that repeating itself against Southampton are priced at 8/11. Liverpool are the highest scoring team of the Premier League, having scored a whopping 30 goals in their 11 games so far. Southampton on the other hand, only secured one win in their last five and are coming from back to back losses – not the best form before facing the table leaders.

Bet on Manchester City

Is this a mini crisis for Pep Guardiola and his men? Manchester City only managed to pick up six points form their last five games – not the kind of numbers required if they want to keep their title hopes alive. One win from their last five is unheard of by Guardiola’s standard and I’m sure we’ll witness a course correction in the next few games. Manchester City are the favourites to win against Crystal Palace, a team which is a loss away to make it five from five. Betting on Manchester City will be a smart bet to add to any accumulator, as odds are currently at 1/2 for City to win the game. Only one of their last five matches ended in over 2.5 goals and there is a great opportunity to benefit from high odds for under 2.5 goals, as the bet is priced at 33/25. Palace have scored in four of their last five matches which is interesting when considering to bet on both teams to score. Odds for both teams to score are priced at 7/10.
