Betting on La Liga – Match Day 4

September 14, 2017

Barcelona have kicked off their campaign in the way they know best – winning. The Catalan giants sent out a clear message with their hammering over the Italian champions and the Barcelona players look like they’re enjoying their football under Ernesto Valverde. Los Blancos seem to be going through a dry streak in La Liga, collecting just five points from three games played. At the other end of the table, Malaga and Deportivo Alaves are still searching for their first point of the season, with the latter still waiting to find the net. La Liga betting enthusiasts will be hoping Madrid’s form in the league return this weekend as their hosts, Real Sociedad, have a flawless record this season.

Bet on Real Sociedad vs Madrid

Real Sociedad recorded their third consecutive win and a perfect start to the season after defeating Deportivo de La Coruña on the road last Sunday. The goal scoring trend continued as the visitors found themselves two nil up inside five minutes. However, the last time Real Sociedad emerged victorious when facing Los Blancos was back in 2014. None of their last six meetings ended in a draw – five wins for Madrid and one for Sociedad.

As expected, Madrid are the clear favourites with odds of 1.65 to collect all the points. A cheeky tenner on Sociedad will potentially return £47, however, double chance on Sociedad might be a smarter bet. Odds for Sociedad not to lose are (win or draw) are currently priced at 2.28, a great price to add to your accumulator bet. Both teams to score is also a wise bet, considering the offensive style of both sides and the fact that Real Sociedad found the net 10 times in three games played. The odds are set at 1.52 for this bet.

Few would have guessed that Los Blancos would be sat with just five points from the first available nine and the climb will be steeper if they don’t collect three points.

Bet on Barcelona

Barcelona are yet to concede a goal this season and with their recent performances, they look ready to take control of the season. Their mid-week Champions League clash showed that Barcelona are still a force to be reckoned with and no one expected last years’ finalists to be hammered in the first game.

TAKEOVER Lionel Messi

The Catalan giants now face Getafe on the road. The last time Getafe defied the odds to beat Barcelona was back in 2011 and this year, the odds are set at 11.50 for Getafe to do it again. However, it wouldn’t be a very wise bet. Barcelona found the net 10 times from their last four games in all competitions and with Madrid’s dismal start to the campaign, Ernesto Valverde will be looking to capitalize during this period.

Barcelona have odds of 1.25 to emerge victorious. For better odds, try betting on goals, more specifically, handicap betting on Barcelona. 1.63 are the odds for the Catalan giants to win with a goal difference of two or more and 2.65 for three or more.

Bet on Atletico Madrid

Diego Simeone’s men are unbeaten in their first three games of the season, although, five points is not the start the manager was looking for. They now face Malaga at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano and odds to emerge as winners are priced at 1.23. Both teams to score is looking highly unlikely according to the odds, as they’re priced at 2.75.

Malaga, as discussed earlier, are still looking for their first point of the campaign and only managed to find the net once so far. An interesting bet worth considering and priced at 2.00 (evens) is for Atletico to score in both halves. We’re expecting Atletico to dominate the game with regards to possession and attempts on goal and goals are certainly forecasted.

From their last six meetings, Atletico came out on top on four occasions, losing one and drawing another.
