It was a shocking week for Serie A betting fans as some results left punters baffled. Lazio managed to overcome Juve in their own home and with that loss, it left the Bianconeri five points away of league leaders Napoli and Allegri with some serious question to answer ahead of their Champions League clash. Napoli secured their eighth consecutive win with a huge win over Roma while Inter emerged victorious against their city rivals in a five-goal thriller. After Manchester City in their mid-week Champions league clash, Napoli will face Inter over the weekend and there will be no doubt that fatigue will come into effect when facing giants in the game, week in week out. We’ll take a closer look at all the best bets for the weekend to help you make more informed betting decisions when betting on Serie A.
Bet on Napoli vs Inter
Both teams have been in scintillating form this season with Napoli obtaining a flawless start to the season, after eight games played. Bologna disrupted Inter’s perfect record a couple of weeks ago and while they’re looking like title challengers, Napoli seem hungrier for it.
Napoli are the clear favourites with odds set at 1.52 to collect all three points but backing Inter with double chance will give you great value for your bet, as you will be covering two outcomes with odds of 2.55. Last season, Napoli got the better of Inter, both at home and on the road but Inter have gone through a complete squad transformation over the summer and this year’s, they’ll be looking to even the score.
From their last five matches played in the Serie A, three finished in over 2.5 goals but and on only two occasions had both teams scored. Napoli have found the net 26 times this season, as opposed to Inter’s 17, however, both teams conceded five. Both teams to score is priced at 1.55, however, we’re expecting a tight match with little risks to be taken, especially in the first half, which is what tends to happen in these huge games in Italy. Opting for one team to score (or none) will potentially return £23.80 from a £10 bet.
Bet on Juve
Juve are in a situation they hardly ever find themselves in. They are five points away from league leaders Napoli and only picked up a point from their last two games. Juve have a tough mid-week fixture against Sporting Lisbon and that fixture will have an impact on their performance against Udinese over the weekend.
The champions have odds of 1.43 to record a win and by Juve’s standards, it should be a routine one. Udinese are struggling to find their form, losing six out of their eight games, and find themselves in the bottom five of the table. We can’t imagine Udinese getting anything out of this game, but with Juve’s turbulent form and their mid-week meeting, anything is possible. Backing Udinese with double chance has odds standing at 2.85 and both teams to score is priced at 2.05, although, we don’t believe Udinese have what it takes to take down Juve’s defence. One team to score seems to be the more plausible bet of the two, with odds of 1.75.
Bet on Roma
Napoli proved to be too strong for Roma last weekend and that loss halted their winning streak to four. The Giallorossi are sitting in fifth place, four points away from champions Juve, however, they still have a game in hand to be played against Sampdoria.
Roma will travel to Turin to face Torino on Sunday and following last week’s loss, nothing short of three points is expected by Eusebio Di Francesco, the Roma manager. Torino have only lost one game this season and have odds of 3.60 to collect all the points next Sunday. Keep in mind that Roma will be on the road twice this week, as they’ll be travelling to London to face Chelsea in their Champions League encounter. Living out of hotel rooms, travelling and playing tough matches takes a lot from a squad and these factors might impair their performance in Serie A against Torino.
Odds for Torino to get something out of this game (double chance betting) are priced at 1.83 and 1.46 for both teams to score. Torino found the net 14 times this season but have also conceded 13, making both teams to score more of an attractive bet. Roma too have scored 14 games with a game less played but conceded almost a third less than Torino, with five goals.
The last time this fixture took place, Torino emerged victorious with three goals to one and from their last six meeting, both teams scored on five occasions.
